SmartConnect 48 Released

SmartConnect V48 is available for Download from today (July 24th).

This is a fantastic release of SmartConnect with both some really important new features. The release comes just a week before the release of Dynamics GP10 sp4, and supports all of the new GP Extender functionality that is shipping with SP4.

The key new features are listed below:

1. EXTENDER REAL-TIME DATA, BULK AND CHANGE TRACKING DATA SOURCES.
This is the feature that puts more power in the hands of consultants than ever before. Now you can use all the important data you capture in Extender (either GP Extender or eXtender Enterprise) and use it within a SmartConnect Map. You can run this Real Time when you hit save, scheduled for only those records that have changed since the last time the map ran or based upon bulk records contained in the eXtender object. 2. ACTIVE DIRECTORY USER ON SECURITY WINDOW
The sc security window will display the AD user account that is linked to the GP user. This makes identifying the users that is executing various tasks much easier to identify and troubleshoot.

3. SMARTCONNECT IMPORT SIMPLIFIED
Select files button allows you to select multiple files for import and will automatically read all the selected xml files.

4. REAL-TIME DATA SOURCE WINDOW
The real-time data source window has been improved to display a list of data sources for CRM, GP and Extender. This window will also show the maps linked to a real-time data source.

5. FOLDER DATA SOURCES
A new data source type has been created to allow the import of multiple Text, Excel or XML in one map run. This means that regardless of the file name that is placed into this folder, the data will be picked up and imported into GP. For Example if the bank sends you a file each night with a different name you can simply dump it into a folder and SC will import it right into GP for you. (regardless of the naming convention)

6. DYNAMICS GP WINDOW SECURITY
You may now restrict access to individual SmartConnect Windows using the standard Dynamics GP security functionality. (A trick give SC is built in .net toolkit rather than Dex)

7. EXTENDER ECONNECT NODES
A full set up Extender eConnect nodes are now installed along with SmartConnect if Extender is also installed.
This ensures that you can import data into and pull data from eXtender just like it was any other standard module, just as you would expect from eOne.

8. CRM TEMPLATES
The eOne CRM and GP integration templates will now install as part of the standard install of SmartConnect (if selected). This makes your SC deployment faster and easier.

Beyond the features outlined there have also been a number of bugs eliminated from the product. While we always put a big effort into QA, the effort behind this build has been exceptional and we are confident that this is the most solid SC build released to date.
