eConnect/SmartConnect nodes for Extender

Integrating data into all Extender objects has become much easier now eOne has completed a full set of eConnect nodes for Extender. The new nodes will work with both Microsoft Dynamics GP Extender, and eXtender enterprise. The new nodes mean that eConnect can be used to migrate data in eXtender objects including:

• Extender Windows
• eXtender Detail Windows
• Extender Forms
• Extender Detail Forms
• Extender Notes
• Extender Linked Forms

The big advantage is that SmartConnect can now be used to populate all of these eXtender fields. The integration process becomes one single map that brings data into regular GP fields and eXtender fields simultaneously. This will never again need to be a two step exercise. Previously you would have to use a tool like Integration manager to import customers, and then run a completely separate import routine from a separate source file. to bring the data into the eXtender fields.

Many SmartConnect customers are bringing data into Dynamics GP from customer order systems, web orders or from Microsoft CRM. In each instance there are usually fields from thee systems without a place to put that data in Dynamics GP. Now, you can easily build these fields within eXtender and populate them during the regular integration process. This means that all of the fields in both systems can be kept in synch.

For example: in your online customer order system you provide the customer with fields for tracking the following fields:

• Do not deliver before data
• Delivery Time windows
• Deliver Dock
• Special Instructions
• Preferred shipping company 1
• Preferred shipping company 2

In Dynamics GP there is no great place store this data - so Extender can be used to create this window against a sales order. Then you use SmartConnect to complete the integration by not only creating an order in GP but by also populating all the Extender fields you have created.

With the release of the new Microsoft GP Extender functionality with V10 SP4, you will already have a solution for integration ready to go with SmartConnect.

The same eConnect nodes can be used directly with eConnect. You can have your developer call these nodes directly to populate all things eXtender .
